Regé-Jean Page, Duke of Hastings in Season 1 of Bridgerton, will not return for Season 2 of the series. Season 2 of the hit Netflix series will based on the second book of Julia Quinn’s story. New season of the series will focus on Anthony Bridgerton according to the book.
Lady Whistledown from the series anounced readers that Rege-Jean Page will not be returning for Season 2. She wrote: “While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Regé-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings. We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family. Daphne will remain a devoted wife and sister, helping her brother navigate the upcoming social season and what it has to offer – more intrigue and romance than my readers may be able to bear.”

Rege-Jean Page said: “It’s a one-season arc. It’s going to have a beginning, middle, end – give us a year. [I thought] ‘That’s interesting,’ because then it felt like a limited series. I get to come in, I get to contribute my bit and then the Bridgerton family rolls on.”
Also, the Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen said on whether Page and Dynevor’s characters will be back to Season 2: “I hope so. They are now of course the Duke and Duchess of Hastings but in my mind they will always be Bridgertons and I think they will always be part of the show.”
Production on the Season 2 begins in early April. New cast additions include Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, Charithra Chandran as Edwina and Rupert Young as Jack.
