Netflix Says That "We have always presented The Crown as a drama"

Netflix says ‘The Crown’ has always been presented as a drama. According to the announcement of Netflix, it won’t warn viewers of the historical drama genre series ‘The Crown’ about some scenes that are fiction.

How did the debate begin?

Oliver Dowden (UK culture secretary) suggested the Netflix drama should get a “health warning” marking it as fiction. After that, Helena Bonham Carter said in an official podcast about The Crown: “It is dramatized. I do feel very strongly, because I think we have a moral responsibility to say, ‘Hang on guys, this is not… it’s not a drama-doc, we’re making a drama.’ So they are two different entities.”

Netflix Responds to Claims

Netflix stated about whether they would ever label The Crown as fiction: “We have always presented The Crown as a drama – and we have every confidence our members understand it’s a work of fiction that’s broadly based on historical events. As a result, we have no plans – and see no need – to add a disclaimer.”

When will ‘The Crown’ season 5 be released?

The Crown Season 4 is already released on Netflix on November 15th, 2020. ‘The Crown’ season 5 is unlikely to arrive before late 2021 or early 2022.
