Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer said: “We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper!”

“Although it’s not all good news for our ‘American’; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other.”

“Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long-buried, something that connects everything.”

Stranger Things season 4 will have eight episodes.

The Release Date of Stranger Things Season 4

There isn’t currently an official release date.

In an Instagram Q&A back in March 2020, David Harbour said that he thought new episodes were “supposed to come out early next year”.

Then in April 2021, Finn Wolfhard (Mike) said: “should be out sometime next year hopefully”.

Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) said in March 2020: “There are very few dates that are reliable. It really is more of a guesstimation on when we’re gonna be filming next, when we’re gonna be wrapping up, when release is gonna be, all that jazz because we still don’t know on day-to-day if we’re gonna be filming next week.”

“I should be filming next month for a bigger chunk than I’ve had in a bit, but even though it’s coming up in about two weeks from now, I still don’t know an exact date. So because of that, there’s really no way to figure out when we’re gonna be wrapping.”

We expect that the release date is the end of this year since as of June 15, 2021, Stranger Things Season 4 is still in production.
